Good Intention Gone Ashtray

I have the best intention to work on my Project Life ever since the beginning of this year. I bought two kits around November 2012, the Clementine Edition and Baby Edition For Her. It was almost the end of one year period and I just gave birth to my first baby daughter. I dedicated the Clementine Edition to 2013 memory keeping and the Baby Edition, well, for the baby.

I remember how excited I was to begin working on Project Life Baby Edition. The first time I print all the photos I wanted to include in my baby's Project Life, I went overboard since I print too many and wasted most of the photo pockets for similar images of Baby No. 1. Before her first birthday, the binder was becoming too full and I was afraid that I may run out of the photo pockets. We cannot find those products here so if I need to have them imported, it will take too much time and too much money just for additional pages. Besides, although the binder can take more than 60 photo pocket pages, it becomes too bulky and quite difficult to open.

So I was working on two Project Life. Very ambitious, huh? Guess what, I did not complete any. What is worse is I can only reached the first 3 weeks.

The first week layout

First week close-up

As you can see, I only have a couple of pictures taken without any significant journal. I can only capture the left page of the spread since my spirit of doing Project Life documenting and journaling is typically last on Monday to Tuesday. Afterwards, I was caught up with whatever it is that was going on in that week.

An Amy Tan collection for the title. I used all available fonts as week title, it last until week 10

Looking back, I feel quite sorry, like that I let time pass me by, that I do not take the time to look into our lives and be thankful for whatever it is that is happening. I admire those who diligently and persistently working on their projects especially ones who decided to approach the a-picture-a-day system. Kudos to you guys, you have my utmost respect.

So in the beginning of this new year, I will of course try again to complete my Project Life. And Ithis time it is getting very ambitious. There are 3 binders I wish to complete:
1. Project Life 2014
2. Project Life Baby No. 1 (I need to complete Month #9 to #12)
3. Project Life Baby No. 2

I wish you all a happy new year, let us celebrate a new beginning.

Blush - Title Page

So I finally started Richelle's Project Life album. Since I only bought the mini kit of`Project Life Baby Edition, I am trying to use other product in the title page.

I already put the title page with the products shown above

But then I did not get the chance to finish until that night I had the time to scribble and make sketches for Project Life and I come to this idea of having solid color paper and black and white photos of Richelle in the title and ending page.

Since I am still within my 40-days-of-rest after giving birth to Richelle, I'm not allowed to go out of the house. Therefore, it may be a while for me to post the actual title and ending page. I think I will go straight to the third-closest mall from the house because I need to print out the photos and I also am planning to get a new chipboard letter stickers for each month title.

Looking forward to the end of this month.

Richelle's Blush

As I mentioned in an earlier post, one of the focus of this blog will be my effort to keep up with memory keeping. After Baby Rachel was born, I was introduced to Becky Higgins's Project Life. Project Life is a form of scrap-booking or you may say a system of memory keeping which includes putting photos and pre-designed journal cards into plastic photo pockets. So what you need are :

Since my beautiful niece is now live in Singapore, I have asked her to buy Project Life Baby Edition for Richelle because obviously we cannot find the products here.

Project Life Binder Blush Edition, Project Life Mini Kit Baby Edition for Her, Project Life Big Variety Pack A
Project Life Binder - Blush Edition
I think I will get start to prepare Richelle's Baby Book this weekend. I can put all the photo pockets into the binder and start making sketches of photos I would like to use in this binder.

Since Richelle will only use the mini kit version of Project Life Baby Edition, I think I'm going to use a baby kit I bought in one of a scrapbook store here. I bought it thinking that I'm going to need more of fancy paper or embellishment to put in Rachel's baby book. I was wrong. Rachel's Project Life binder was bulky half way finish.

Additional kit for Richelle's Project Life

My mistake with Rachel's Baby Book was I was so excited printing too many photos of her which result in a bulky binder by the time Rachel was 7 months. So I think I want to plan Richelle's in advance.

I actually love planning my Project Life when I'm choosing which photos i will use in the binder. The sketch may look something like this :

Excuse the background photo. You can still see my sketches, right?
